This year for Armed Forces Day, the Ministry of Defence has created a competition for grants worth up to £10,000 for communities to put on events to celebrate our armed forces.
This is a massive opportunity for us to show our local pride and give gratitude to the service families and veterans living in our communities.
I hope that schools, charities, and councils across Mid Derbyshire will be applying for this funding so we can have fantastic events on Armed Forces Day.
The grant applications close at the end of March, so there isn’t much time.
