Last June, Mayor of the East Midlands, Claire Ward and the Labour government announced that it had secured £2 billion for transport across the East Midlands. This is the biggest investment in the region in a generation, and a vote of confidence in the East Midland’s potential.
Back in November, Mayor Claire has launched her ‘Big Transport Conversation’ – a consultation on how to best spend that money.
I know that residents care deeply about good public transport, and there is reason to be optimistic that this consultation will deliver tangible results.
Last year, Labour-run Derby City Council and Mayor Claire brought not one but two new bus services into Spondon.
So please let her know your thoughts about how she can improve public transport in the East Midlands.
