It is an hour’s round trip for Spondon’s residents to access their nearest bank in Derby City Centre – over two miles away.

I know there is huge appetite in Spondon and an ongoing campaign for a banking hub. I want to lend my support to it in any way that I can.

Banking hubs do work – last year I visited Belper Banking Hub and they told me that they are now one of the busiest banking hubs in the UK. Its success is evidence of people’s desire for local banking services and face-to-face access to professionals that can help with mortgages, savings, and pensions. I want to see it replicated here in Spondon.
