It was great to visit the club with Morrisons during the recent parliamentary recess.

The supermarket chain has supported the club by funding drainage improvements on the club’s site. This aims to reduce the amount of playing time lost due to waterlogged pitches.

I am pleased the Labour government is getting more children active by protecting time for physical education in schools and supporting grassroots clubs in expanding access to sport.

It is important we get children into sports at a young age, supporting their lifelong health and wellbeing, and bringing the community together over shared love of physical activity and local competition.
