Jonathan Davies MP Serving the people of Mid Derbyshire
On the start of the second day, I continued my big walk from Quarndon into Duffield where I visited local businesses and stopped for a coffee and a cheese scone at Sanchini’s for breakfast.
After walking through Little Eaton, I stopped off at Breadsall Priory golf course and hotel. I spoke with the manager, Natasha, and am now supporting her with some local issues.
I pressed on in the afternoon rain through Morley Smithy, Stanley village, and into Dale Abbey, where the 13th century hermitage stands as a relic of our historic past. I witnessed layers of history held in our landscape – medieval stonework, industrial embankments, and footpaths worn by centuries of wanderers.
