Thank you to Shao Dow and UK Music for delivering an amazing performance and inspirational talk to students at Belper School and West Park School.

I am pleased to have helped make this event happen.

It went down brilliantly with the students, who queued for autographs and enthusiastically joined in with Shao Dow’s anime-inspired raps.

During the Q&A, the students asked inquisitive questions about his journey into music, how social media has influenced his career, and how music education can take you to fascinating and unexpected places.

Opportunities to hear directly from success stories within the creative industries are valuable, especially those like Shao Dow, who have shown focus and determination to build success independently, embracing new forms of media like TikTok, YouTube and Instagram to build a follower base and forge a sustainable career.

With the creative industries holding a significant role in our economy – adding £126 billion in added value and employing 2.4 million people – hosting events like this helps young people see real pathways into creative careers.
