I had great fun calling two charity games of bingo at Ritz Bingo, Belper, recently.
I learned how bingo halls that are members of national trade body the Bingo Association have been fundraising for Variety, the Children’s Charity, and have raised over £2 million since 2015.
It was great to play a small role in that, and I came away learning how I can better support them with the challenges they’re facing locally so they can keep doing good work into the future.
Bingo Halls have a major role to play in our communities, and they are a great opportunity for people – including older residents at risk of social isolation – to get together and have fun. I certainly did, and I look forward to going back soon to play some bingo.
