I met with the Neighbourhood Watch team and the Chair of the Parish Council in Quarndon.
They raised concerns regarding a string of burglaries in the village. I have been working with Nicolle Ndiweni-Roberts, Derbyshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, and with Derbyshire Constabulary, to draw attention to this serious matter.
It is important that residents report all crimes when they happen, either on the police website or by phoning 101. This is so they can have a record of all incidents, and build up a body of evidence that can inform how they respond and where they put resources.
SmartWater, a forensic marking system, is also a good way for police to collect evidence and samples. It can be put onto stealable items, making them easily identifiable later.

I will continue to liaise with the police and other authorities to ensure that everything is done to prevent further burglaries and bring the perpetrators to justice.
