One of the most important issues that emerged in our conversations was that unpaid carers often felt invisible and unheard – a difficult reality, given the selfless sacrifices they make to care for our loved ones.

I hope that this event went some way to getting voices heard, and I am committed to holding similar follow-up events to keep the conversation going. My next steps include acting on the carers’ concerns and writing to the Department for Health and Social Care to push for meaningful reforms in the care sector.
