Jonathan Davies MP Serving the people of Mid Derbyshire

I was delighted to visit Morley Primary School, one of 24 schools across Derbyshire to be an early adopter of Labour’s free breakfast clubs.
This will make a huge difference for families across the country when it’s fully rolled out.
The Breakfast Club means a happy, healthy start for children, money back into the pockets of families who are struggling with the cost of living, and 95 extra hours of free childcare to parents and guardians each year.
I spoke with parents and teachers about how they were finding the scheme, what was working, and what needed adjusting to better meet their needs.
Overall, it has been very well received. Morley Primary School, in the early morning, is a happy and peaceful space for children to enjoy their breakfast and get ready for a day of learning.
I want to give my profound thanks to the amazing teachers and staff who are working hard to deliver this scheme. They are blazing a trail for other schools around the country.
In this pilot phase, parent and teacher input will provide important learning for the scheme’s full roll-out across England.
I will feed back what I heard to my colleagues in government.
If you have any further thoughts or feedback on this scheme, please let me know.
