Since the parish council meeting, I have made sure that their concerns were represented at a roundtable on local councils with the Minister for Democracy.

These included the importance of local councils in building civic pride, the governance issues they face, and the lack of awareness locally and nationally of the important work they do. The minister was clear that decisions on Local Government Reform must follow local interests.
