It was a pleasure to visit Duffield Meadows Primary School, and see how they are finding the final few weeks before the summer holidays.
The headteacher, Mrs Novak-Lemmings, told me about how the school’s community of teachers, pupils, and parents responded to the challenges and extensive flood damage following Storm Babet.
It was great to see pupils learning an instrument, and enjoying the benefits of music as part of their education – something which I greatly support.
I also heard about how the school will be able to teach pupils how to swim and deliver that part of the curriculum more efficiently with the trial of a new on-site outdoor swimming pool.
